POP3 Access of HOTMAIL
Available Worldwide for all users now
Before, one could not configure POP3 access through any mail client - Windows Live accounts did not even work with Outlook Express - but now everyone, regardless of any country, POP3 access can be setup now. Now users will be able to receive their emails on clients like Thunderbird by Mozilla or Outlook by Microsoft. This feature would even work on devices like iPhone by Apple, Windows Mobile Phone or Blackberry.
Using the following settings, that are given beneath, one can setup their POP3 access to HOTMAIL through Outlook or other email client:
POP server: pop3.live.com (Port 995)
POP SSL required? Yes
User name: Your Windows Live ID, for example yourname@hotmail.com
Password: The password you usually use to sign in to Hotmail or Windows Live
SMTP server: smtp.live.com (Port 25 or 587)
Authentication required? Yes (this matches your POP username and password)
TLS/SSL required? Yes
